The senior assistant of the Department of seismology and geomagnetism of the ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics Rashad Abbasov, graduate student of the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), continues to participate in the geophysical field works.
The field works are in the Bibi-Heybat-Shikhovo coastal areas. The goal of the field works is to study the electrical and physical properties of the region, to determine marine sediments and intrusions in the soil by the electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), georadar (GPR, ground penetrating radar), seismic refraction and the gravimetry. The obtained measurements were operated and interpreted by different modern programs. The results obtained are important in the application of complex geophysical methods in hydrogeological and geotechnical surveys.
The results of geophysical studies will be used in the study of the geological environment, in the identification and analysis of correlations between the earthquakes sources.
